SPORT -

Sports play a pivotal role in the life of our school, with a rich calendar of significant sporting events, including swimming sports, athletics, cross country, interschool football, and interschool rippa rugby. Beyond these events, we actively participate in Tough Kids competitions, and we proudly field both winter and summer hockey teams in Palmerston North.

Physical Education (PE) is an integral part of our curriculum, and we occasionally enlist facilitators to enhance our PE sessions. During the summer months, our school pool is open during break times, offering students a refreshing way to stay active. Additionally, our students are highly engaged during break times, often organising and participating in team sports with one another.

MATARIKI FESTIVAL -

Each year, we look foward to our Matariki festival, an evening that encompasses singing, dancing, and various captivating performing arts. Additionally, our school community comes together as we collectively prepare a hangi, with all our students actively involved in the meal's preparation. It's a wonderful occasion that fosters a sense of togetherness and celebration within our school.

AG DAY -
Annually, we celebrate Ag Day, providing our students with a fantastic opportunity to showcase their agricultural and creative talents. Students can bring in lambs, calves, or goats, grow flower and vegetable gardens, and showcase a diverse array of art, craft, and design projects for all to admire. It's a special day of learning and sharing at our school!

CAMPS -
During Term 1, we organise a school-wide camp that brings immense enjoyment to all our students. This camp serves as a fantastic way to kickstart the year, fostering cohesion and camaraderie among our school community. Additionally, our Year 7 and 8 students embark on a biennial camp adventure of their own to Forest Lakes.

EPIC MUSIC -
Bainesse School is fortunate to be able to provide EPIC music lessons to our students. These small group music lessons take place once a week, conveniently integrated into the school hours. We offer instruction in guitar, drums, and keyboard, allowing our students to explore their musical talents with dedicated guidance.

PRODUCTION -
Every year, during Term 3, all our students enthusiastically participate in our School Production. This special event provides an excellent opportunity for our students to showcase their performing arts talents, making it a memorable night for all involved.

DUFFY BOOKS -
We are proudly apart of the Duffy Books in homes and schools program, where we are able to give students 3 free books a year to take home, as well as giving out extra books to students in our assemblies if they have been 'caught being good!'
